11th Annual Plainfield Harvest 5K Run/Walk
The Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce its plans for the 11th Annual Plainfield Harvest 5K Run/Walk presented by Eward Plainfield.
This year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27th, starting with race day registration at 7am and the CARA registered “family” 5K race kicking off at 9am from Village Green Park in downtown Plainfield.
Runners’ champion chipped timers will be available again this year for exact race results. Youngsters ages 6-12 will be able to participate in their very own event, the Meijer Kidz Miler beginning at 8:15am. Prizes for the overall winners in both the men’s and women’s divisions will be awarded prior to the post race party at Front Street Cantina.
The Corporate Challenge is also back this year, with the traveling trophy and bragging rights awarded to the business with the best average time signed up in this category.
Various business sponsorship levels to promote your business or organization are still available and volunteers for race day are always welcome.
PACC has coordinated the Plainfield Harvest 5K Run/Walk since its inception in 1998. That year, 250 runners participated in the race. The race has gained popularity and in 2008, the event had nearly 1, 200 runners. This year’s race is expected to draw more participants from throughout the Midwest.
Over the years, the Plainfield Harvest 5K Run/Walk has raised more than $90,000, benefiting local charities and community service organizations.
