June 2011 - Members In The Spotlight

Linden Oaks at Edward and the National Association for Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Eating Disorders hosted the 8^th annual Candlelight Vigil for eating disorders on May 16^th. Miss America 2011, Teresa Scanlan delivered the keynote address “Eating Disorders: A Generation at Risk”.

 

Joliet Area Community Hospice announced that May 23^rd was Veteran Recognition Day at Loyalton Assisted Living & Retirement Community & The Courtyards of Loyalton Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Community. Veterans were honored & recognized for their service to our country.

 

The Illinois Chamber of Commerce announced the recipients of their 2009-2010 Champion of Free Enterprise Award Winners including State Representative Tom Cross. The Illinois Chamber of Commerce rates each legislator based on their votes over the previous 3 General Assemblies.

 

DuPage Medical Group and Edward Hospital announced a new partnership focused on improving health care throughout the region. They signed an agreement to work together to improve quality, efficiency & access to care for the 1.7 million residents in their combined service areas.

 

Joliet Area Community Hospice proclaimed May 25^th as Veteran Recognition Day at Sunny Hill Nursing Home by Will County Executive, Larry Walsh. Veterans were honored & recognized for their service to out country.

 

Members of the Kiwanis Club of Shorewood stopped by Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center to present a gift to help support the Pediatric Center of Excellence. In accordance with their mission, the group seeks to directly benefit children & families & has expressed interest in providing items for their comfort with a generous $1,000 gift.

 

Naper Settlement Marketing Department received a Publicity Club of Chicago Silver Trumpet Award on May 6^th for the 2010 “Summer at the Settlement” marketing campaign. Naper Settlement’s integrated marketing campaign publicizing summertime activities ranged from traditional print advertising to two-story banners along with e-communications, coupons and social media.

 

Career Event Launched for Will and Grundy Counties by Joliet Junior College, to offer students and job seekers of all ages a contemporary way to connect with the business community. Participants included people from the Joliet Housing Authority, the Illinois Department of Employment Security, Hollywood Casino, Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell, Local 176, Three Rivers Education Partnership, the Workforce Investment Board and more!

 

The United States Library of Congress selected Naper Settlement’s Civil War Days website, www.napersteelement.museum/calendar/Civil%20War%20Days.html for inclusion in the historic collection of Internet materials related to the American Civil War Sesquicentennial.
