New Covenant Worship Dance Apparel was created to supply liturgical dancers with garments for Sunday worship services. As dance came back into the church they were having problems finding garments that could be worn in a church setting. Our garments are designed and made by us. Wanda Starczynski, the owner, attended the National School of Dress Design in New York City and was trained in the art of tailoring by a very knowledgeable Italian immigrant tailor. She worked with him for 18 months before opening a tailoring shop in 1981. In May of 1998 Wanda began to see the need for a garment maker so she turned her attention to the design and production of these garments, and New Covenant Worship Dance Apparel was born.
Even though this a Small Business, our garments are in approximately 17 countries and almost every state in the union. Wanda travels several times a year across the country to attend conferences to showcase our products. This increases sales, as people get to see our garments and other worship items first hand. We do offer a selection of garments and worship items in our store located just blocks from downtown Plainfield, IL.
If a church has a large group of dancers, Wanda will measure them and custom design the garments needed for their production. This is a service that is not offered by any other company that we are aware of, we are a “one of a kind” business, personal to each group and each individual. We will work closely with you to make sure all your needs are met with your satisfaction in mind. We also work with instructors for their dance recital costume needs, theater and local area schools with their production costuming or flag and banner needs. This year we will also be offering several new designs including a complete line of Men’s Dance Wear. This is very exciting to us and we look forward to seeing the impact it will have in the men’s worship groups bringing more people to our doors.
