The First Illinois Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association has awarded the Founders Medal of Honor to Vince Pryor, Edward Hospital Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. The Founders Medal of Honor is the HFMA’s highest honor of distinction and has been awarded to only 17 people in the 64-year history of the First Illinois Chapter.

Coronary interventional procedures, such as balloon angioplasty and the insertion of stents, are performed in a cardiac catheterization lab to diagnose and treat heart attacks and coronary artery disease.
Innerpeace Natural Healthcare welcomes their newest Massage Therapist, Peg Johnson. Peg offers an hour and a half Hot River Rock massage session at Innerpeace Natural Healthcare. Peg graduated Rush School of Nursing and Wellness and Massage Training Institute. Peg is also a certified Instructor of Prenatal Massage, LaStone Therapy and Infant Massage Instructor. She has also done a Shaman apprenticeship with Sandra Ingerman and is currently a student Miline Institute in Big Sur, California. Peg is a RN that has worked in ICU, Recovery and ED since 1966.
Linden Oaks at Edward is offering Camp Success Winter Break 2011 for teens ages 12-17 to learn skills to cope with bullying, anxiety, low self-esteem and depression. The camp, which will be led by mental health professionals and licensed therapists, will be held December 26 -30, 9am to 3pm and take place primarily at Linden Oaks, located on the campus of Edward Hospital, 801 S. Washington Street in Naperville.

A record $521,000.00 was raised at the Edward Foundation’s recent 21st annual Gala, The Big Gig: Untamed Adventure. Nearly 700 people attended the event at Bobak’s Signature Events in Woodridge on Saturday, October 15th. Proceeds from the Gala will, in part, go to Edward’s KidsCare Campaign which is supporting the complete renovation of Edward’s newborn and pediatric critical care areas, special procedure rooms and construction and operation of the Ronald McDonald Family Room, scheduled to open in 2012.
