Recently, 25 high-school students completed their participation in the Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center (PSJMC) Student Ambassador Volunteer Program. It was the 5th consecutive summer that PSJMC offered this educational & personal growth experience to students. The student ambassadors were able to use their time & talents to help those in need. The student ambassadors are: Chelsea Pfiffer, Liz Phillips, Kara Boucher, Andrea Mitchell, Mike Paluzzi, Vinay Rao, Domenica Walsh, Jordan King, Kristen Jessen, Zach Turner, Maddy Mutz, Julia Nichols, Lea Caponigro, Quaylin Peretti, Lily Su, Brianna Sikorski, Christine Baremeyer, Amos Alonzo Stagg, Brittany Hughes, Emily Seyforth, Rebecca Brandonisio & Rachel Zabala.

Edward Hospital is the only Illinois hospital and one of only 33 hospitals in the country to earn Triple Gold Recognition from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s “Get With The Guidelines” program for treatment of coronary artery disease, heart failure and stroke. Edward and the other Triple Gold hospitals are featured in the August 2010 “America’s Best Hospitals” issue of U.S. News & World Report.

Edward Hospital now has the da Vinci Si Surgical System, the most advanced robotic technology available which can be used for a range of minimally invasive procedures in gynecology, urology and thoracic & general surgery. The da Vinci System provides surgeons with greater precision, control & access to hard-to-reach areas, allowing extremely complex operations to be performed through just a few small incisions instead of traditional open surgery.
