The Doctors at Associated Orthodontists were named “Orthodontic Providers of the Week” by Smiles Change Lives, a national non-profit that provides access to life-changing orthodontic treatment to children from low-income families. Dr. Mike Casey, Dr. Dave Cortopassi, Dr. Scott Soderquist and Dr. Pat Jones have donated complimentary full orthodontic treatment to 4 children from low-income families this year. Staff from Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center teamed up with Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry to pass out food to hungry families in the Joliet community. Presence St. Joe’s nurses and other staff members braved the sub-zero temperatures in order to distribute foods to 86 families benefitting 339 individuals. Together, the two organizations distributed meat, potatoes, mac and cheese, cereal, cheeses, bread and other assorted foods. Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry is a traveling food pantry that brings food to high-need communities.

Chicago Health Executives Forum (CHEF), the largest independent chapter of the American College of Health Executives (ACHE), has named Gina Sharp, MBA, FACHE, President Linden Oaks at Edward, as the recipient of its 2013 Early Career Healthcare Executive Award, which recognizes executive achievement for those under 40. Sharp was honored as one of hte 2013 CHEF Award winners for Metropolitan Chicago at CHEF's 38th Annual Meeting at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
Veterans are driven for success in the CDL Training Program at Joliet Junior College’s Driving America: One Veteran at a Time CDL Training Program. The four-week CDL training program meets Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. The training is provided by Joliet Junior College at the Weitendorf Agricultural Education Center, 17840 Laraway Road in Joliet. Joliet Junior College is one of six colleges across the nation to be awarded grant money from the US Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to help train veterans and/or their spouse for jobs in the transportation industry. Race entries are available from the Edward Foundation for the 2nd annual Edward Hospital Naperville Marathon & Half Marathon, which will be held Sunday, November 9, 2014. The races will start and finish near Naperville Central High School.
